Spin Alpaca is an offshoot of Fair Meadows Farm, begun in 1998 by Eva Gallagher in Auburn, Washington State, USA. Spin Alpaca carries hand combed alpaca top (made at home by Eva), and machine combed alpaca top (made in the only worsted fiber mill in North America), roving, knitting and crocheting supplies, patterns and more.
Eva began her journey into fiber arts by knitting and crocheting in Junior High School. In 1998, she bought three Llamas and three fleeces. Then came the woolcombs, drop spindle, spinning lessons, books, guilds, and more. Within months, Eva's first product, hand combed llama top debuted to rave reviews. With the acquisition of a handcrafted Watson 30" spinning wheel and Peter Teal Woolcombs came hand combed alpaca top, and handspun yarn. After six years of selling handmade products at spinning events throughout the Northwest United States, we now have enough high quality inventory to sell online.
From our office in a little old log cabin, surrounded by pastures full of alpacas in lush green grass (except in August when it is brown!) we happily fill you order. In between orders, we homeschool two kids, run the alpaca business, care for the animals, and lead the busy life of a family with school age children.
We welcome farm visitors. Please call 24 hours in advance to arrange an appointment. We can show you our inventory of animals, fiber related products and gardening soil amendments available for purchase.
